It was super easy getting to Lucille's, and I was ravenous, so getting seated at the bar was the way to go for me! I had been wanting to come here for the longest time, and I finally decided just to try it on my own. Parking can be a bit complicated, but they have cheap valets, so it worked out. The staff was so welcoming and immediately helped me to the bar area for service.the blackberry tea was so refreshing! I tried 3 dishes and was not disappointed at all! The food was flavorful, and it came out super fast. I would recommend having reservations or getting on the waitlist if you're going to try it with a group larger than 2. But this place is a must try. I will be returning for brunch with my girls!!!

Lucille's is located in Housons Museum District. Its founded and known for its Southern food. [Shrimp and Grits + Oxtail Omelette + Fried Green Tomatoes + Woke Punch] It was all delicious but I wasn't overly crazy about what I ordered. I will most certainly be back to try other items on the menu. There was a bit of a wait so i would recommend getting a reservation. The place is nice. If you havent been you need to go!

The food and ambiance were excellent. Also, our waiter, Rick, was a delight. He was attentive, fast, and easy to handle our party of six! If you're visiting Houston (like us) as a Houston local, check this place out!

This is by far one of my favorite brunch places in Houston! Located in the Museum District, the parking can be challenging at times but there is Valet for like $5/$10. My favorite dish that I always order is the Croissant French Toast and I add wings. The toast is amazing and the wings are crispy and seasoned just right. I had never had Fried Green Tomatoes so decided to try them. I honestly can't compare them to anywhere else, but I enjoyed them and the sauce and feta cheese. Visited on a Sunday for my monthly brunch with my girlfriend and it was her first time. She ordered the fish and grits and loved it! We also had mimosas and loved how you receive the bottle, that way you can decide just how much champagne or juice you would like. You have the choice of sitting indoor or out in the back patio area where a live band is playing, and should you choose to sit outside table fans are provided to keep the flying friends away. I will always recommend this establishment.

First tip -- have a reservation! Came to Lucille's from Atlanta on a Sunday for brunch. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. We sat outside which seemed like a complete different universe from inside. It was super hot and the fans are minimal but there are a few areas with shade. The service outside was a tiny bit slow considering they had to come in and out but there was live music and the scenery was nice so it kind of balances out. Plus, our waiter wasn't the greatest. The menu is a bit limited in my opinion but it has a lot of your brunch staples. I opted to get the sweet potato waffle ($16 just for the waffle seemed a little steep but I really wanted something sweet) and paired it with the boudin Benedict. Soooooo good. Waffle was naturally sweet so I didn't even need to add syrup on top. The Benedict was well seasoned with the boudin. It wasn't super spicy but it had a little kick that I could get with! This was a combination I'm proud I came with. Also tried the peach tea which was very refreshing. It comes with one free refill!

Houston boasts a plethora of dining options, yet even the best establishments often come and go. Statistics show that approximately 60% of new restaurants shutter within their first year, and 80% within five years nationwide. However, Lucille's defies these odds, having thrived in the competitive market for over 11 years--an impressive testament to their enduring appeal. What sets them apart? It's their unwavering commitment to a clear vision, evident from the moment you step into their cozy dining space to your first savory bite from their Soul-food-with-a-twist menu. Their menu strikes the perfect balance--not overly pretentious, yet infused with just enough creativity to elevate traditional soul food. With each menu item, I found myself captivated and eager to sample everything. So, my companion and I decided to indulge in an array of starters and share a main course. Review in progress...
